Worked in Allen for the day and I am so glad I found this place. The food is amazing and it is hard to find Argentine food in Dallas. I ordered the special 4 empanadas get a 5th sweet one for free. Mushroom and cheese, 3 cheeses, Argentine sausage, spicy chicken, and a free sweet guava and cream cheese empanada. Sooo amazing, they are perfect, not too greasy but very tasteful, and the empanada itself for greatly made. They have awesome sauces that come on the side, and they offer free little desert samples. The staff and owner are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Will definitely come here again next time I'm in town!

I see you great yelp reviews.
I hear your voices in my head.
I listened and so for Empanadas I went
Picked up some desserts to help the nice folks running this place pay rent
And yet here for epmanadas I shall vent ....
I really wanted to like this place. It's a charming store, clearly a mom and pop operation. A potential hole in the wall, not in the seedy way but the gem type ..alas ...
I was not happy with the empanadas.
Between myself, the better half and the two future models we had, cheese and potatoes, spicy chicken, country chicken, beef, cheese and broccoli and Humita. We also picked up 3 kinds of pastries because my wife says I should loose more weight and the easiest way to do that is to just gain some because I'm at a point where eating less only helps if I starve myself to a near death experience ....
Sorry ...
Of all the Empanadas we ate, the beef was the best. Humita and then Spicy chicken were better then the rest but nothing that would blow your socks off. The others were too mushy and lacked spice for our tastes. The accompanying chimi churri was pretty good. We did enjoy the pastries.
All that said, clearly I have the minority opinion here. Perhaps it was a bad day? Given the stellar reviews I'm sure this place will be just fine without my regular peso contribution. For me the hunt for a got-o empanadas place in north Dallas shall continue! -

I love Argentinian empanadas! My fiance was getting a haircut in the same strip mall and I happened to stumble across this shop. A good deal that caught my attention was buy 3 empanadas, get 1 free sweet empanada. I ordered this deal with my 3 savory empanadas being traditional beef, sausage, and ham and cheese. The sweet empanada that I chose was the mango peach. I was offered to have it either cold or warmed up. I asked for cold because I planned to eat it the next morning for breakfast.
The next morning, my fiance and I warmed up all three and had them for breakfast. Along with our empanadas, we had both the green sauce and hot sauce that were included in my order. All empanadas were delicious! My fiance liked the ham and cheese; I liked the traditional beef. We also liked the sweet empanada which had a flaky crust.
The shop is small but has plenty to offer in terms of empanadas, pastries, drinks, and other items. The owner, who helped me with my order, was very sweet and helpful in giving me suggestions as it was my first time. I would definitely return here for more items. I plan to try the alfajor cookie next! -

What a cool lil Argentinian Bakery this is shop is....and the owner is ever cooler!!! The Empa Mundo and Mimi's empanadas that are in Irving are similar. The ones from Irving fry their empanadas...and this place bakes them. So, it's a preference...I personally prefer to eat them like I used to in Buenos Aires....baked. And if you need assistance, the owner would definitely assist you on getting you the perfect empanada. :)
If you're ever in the neighborhood...come and check them out. The empanadas are delicious!!! :) -

I have been spoiled by living next door to Empa Mundo and Mimi's empanadas in Irving. This place can not compare to Empa Mundo.
Tango's is located in a little shopping area. There's a cute garden table and two chairs with a mason jar of flowers on the left side of the front door. We walked in and the set up is similar to a donut shop. There's a display fridge with all of the available empanadas. There are tables on the front and left side of the shop with platters of pastries with glass food guards on each of the round plates. The food here isn't like Empa Mundo, where they cook the empanadas after you order. They microwave the ones you want.
We ordered two of the brisket with bbq sauce, a sausage, and chicken empanadas. The empanadas are good portions but the meat is dry. You will need to dip your empanadas in some sauce. The sauce that they give you, one is just regular hot sauce or Tabasco sauce, and the other is oil with some spices (I don't care for that one). There is also too much dough, which means less meat.
I also picked up a few pastries. You remove the glass sneeze guard or whatever they're called, and there are no tongs or paper towels to use so I picked them with my fingers. I kind of feel bad for the next person who gets a pasty cause that's not the best sanitary practice to pick pastries off a plate. I thought I was getting a guava and cheese, because that's what the label said, but when I got home, it was filled with strawberry.
This is a cute place to go if you're in the mood for empanadas and are far away from Empa Mundo, but they need an update on clean food practices, freshness, and quality control.
